American late-night talk show host Conan O'Brien announced his plans of traveling to Haiti following the U.S. President Donald Trump's negative and offensive comments about the country. In Conan fashion, the talk show host humorously reacted on social media, and effectively has made Haiti one of the places he goes to as a special part of his late-night television show.
In the tweet that O'Brien posted, he referred to the President's comment about Haiti as a "very negative Yelp review." This is after President Trump insinuated that Haiti is a terrible place, with all of its inhabitants carrying the AIDS virus. O'Brien also mentioned that because President Trump "gave it a negative rating," he is sure that he will end up having a good time during his visit.
As per O'Brien's tweet, he also expressed his intention to make some new friends in the country of Haiti, as well as engage in some exploration. By the end, he urged his fans to "stay tuned" to see clips of his upcoming trip.
Haiti is not the only country that President Trump has a problem with. In his original rant, President Trump alluded to numerous Africa-based immigrants, and spouted negative and racist comments against them. Some of the countries that he mentioned were El Salvador and other African countries -- and in fact, was proud that he said this.
Although O'Brien mentioned in the past that he has no intention of getting mixed with the politics in the country, it seems that he aims to be effectively doing so anyway through his special segment called "Conan Without Borders" -- which from the title alone, already takes a jab at the U.S. President.
In the past, the 54-year-old comedian and talk show host has visited countries like Cuba, Armenia, Qatar, Israel, and even Mexico. As of now, there is no news yet on when the episode of O'Brien's trip to Haiti is going to air.
