There has been more than a month since the last GOP debate, and for the latest event we move to the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas on Tuesday night.

Donald Trump is standing out at the top of the polls even more so than ever, but this time Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has stormed to the top of the chasing pack and that means tonight's debate will see Cruz and Trump face off against one another more so than in previous debates.

Trump will take up his usual position at the center of the large debate line up, and will be joined by Ben Carson, Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.

For the undercard debate there will only be four contenders this time, and that debate will include Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and former New York Gov. George Pataki.

Tonight's debate is the first since Trump made his controversial comments about his idea to ban all Muslim immigrants from entering the United States.

Most Americans have spoken out against such plans, including all the other frontrunners in the Republican race, as well as the leading Democratic contenders.

Tuesday night's GOP debate will be the final Republican debate of 2015, and will mark a turning of the candidates' attention towards the Iowa caucus for February 1, 2016.

Tonight's U.S. Republican Presidential Debate 2015 will be broadcast on the CNN network, with a scheduled start time for the undercard debate of 6 p.m. ET, and the main debate starting at 8.30 p.m. ET. The debate can be watched online through free live stream by clicking here.
