CM Punk speaks for the first time after shoulder injury

Right now, CM Punk is forced to rest and wait to see how his shoulder progresses and based on his words for the first time since it happened, he is pretty upset about it.

Earlier this month, trainer Duke Roufus broke the news that Punk has suffered a setback due to injury and that such will eventually push back his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut all the more. Punk was hoping to make his first official UFC fight before 2015 came to a close. However, the injury he sustained in training has dashed all hopes of that happening.

Before the injury occurred, Punk revealed that all was going according to plans. It seemed he was making good progress until that untimely injury would eventually result in negative criticism, mostly coming from social media. And for that, he wished that word about his injury never got out, saying, "Whatever happens in the gym stays in the gym."

By this time, Punk should be used to it. The 36-year-old mixed martial artist drew a lot of flak the moment he announced plans of invading the UFC. Many felt Punk was pushing his luck a bit, especially since he had no experience in the Octagon.

Although equipped with mixed martial arts talent, it may take more than that for Punk to survive other UFC opponents he may come face-to-face with. While he has mentioned that he feels fine doing strking moves, grappling is something he needs more work on.

Whatever happens, the setback is not seen to dampen Punk's plans of pushing forward with his UFC plans. With a timetable set at about six to ten months, the former WWE champion can still make it to UFC 200 unless he suffers another injury once he recovers from this one.

As it stands now, he was lucky to come out of this one with no serious tear. With more luck along the way, that debut should happen, and hopefully, it will be a good one for Punk.
