Cleveland Cavaliers rumors 2015: Has Delladedova overpriced himself?

Will Matthew Delladedova be back in Cleveland next year?

The Cavs have, of course, wanted most of the players back for next season; but are their players pricing themselves too much?

Everyone knows that Dan Gilbert is already negotiating with Tristan Thompson who reportedly was not amenable to a dangled contract worth $80 million spread through five years since he wanted a maximum deal instead. To date, nothing has materialized, although Griffin remains hopeful.

But as this is still unsettled, another player that has yet to re-sign is Matthew Delladedova.

Delladedova is best remembered for his efforts during the recently concluded NBA Finals but is reportedly seeking a deal which would pay him $4 million a year. Apparently the figures would have been acceptable if it were for two years but as it stands, Delly wants it as his annual pay.

Assessing his last season, Delladedova only showed his worth in the NBA Finals. He, of course, eventually faded but much of that was because of dehydration, which he reportedly never recovered from.

But seeing that Delladedova will most likely play the third guard in the rotation with the coming of Mo Williams, will the Cavs even bite?

Many feel that Delladedova may be pushing his luck with this one and unless he wisens up, he may have to look for another team. The fact is that during free agency, his name wasn't even mentioned among possible recruits by other teams (unless some teams kept in secrecy) so one has to wonder if Delladedova is in his right state of mind.

While Gilbert wants to bring back the core, the fact is that it doesn't give players the right to overprice themselves. Should Delladedova hold out, it won't be surprising to see him out of the Cavs roster for the coming season?

Where could he land? Well your guess is as good as ours.
