Lebron James is an integral part of the Cleveland Cavaliers roster and the last thing that team owner Dan Gilbert or head coach David Blatt wants see is the King being burned out this early or worse, fall prey to injury.
James is not reportedly suffering any injury right now, although he has been continuous bothered by his back. Such is nothing new since back problems have plagued James for some time now.
Back in January, James took anti-inflammatory shots and took two weeks off to rehabilitate himself. Now, the Cavs are doing the same and probably just in time before the Cavs open their season against the Chicago Bulls.
The Cavs will likely keep James in storage from here on, although there is a chance that he could be playing in the final preseason game alongside Kevin Love.
The reason for this is to test the team in game scenarios, although that plan remains up in the air.
Kevin Love is set to make his debut today, Sunday, against the Toronto Raptors. It will be the first time to see Love after incurring a shoulder injury during the first round of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Playoffs last season against the Boston Celtics.
The Cavs will be keeping a close watch on their players as they try to manage their health for the coming season.
Injuries to key players like Love, Kyrie Irving, and Anderson Varejao proved to be costly as James had to carry the Cavs' fight in the last NBA Finals all by himself. This time, the Cavs don't want to see that happen again, and it all starts by looking out for the health of their current roster.
James and Love are expected to carry the brunt of the Cavaliers for the early parts of the season as Kyrie Irving recovers from knee cap surgery.
Irving is likely to return by 2016 as the Cavs do not plan to rush him back into action.
