Cleveland Cavaliers roster news 2015: Kyrie Irving given green light to work out

The Cleveland Cavaliers are, of course, busy making ends meet, filling up their roster while also trying not to place themselves in a hole that could lead to millions of dollars in luxury tax penalties.

The good news is that Lebron James and Kevin Love are back and so are most of the other Cavs who were around last season. While Tristan Thompson, Matthew Delladedova, and J.R. Smith are still candidates, it all boils down to how Dan Gilbert can make the necessary adjustments in the financial aspect of things.

But one player who is not involved yet in these kinds of negotiations is none other than Kyrie Irving. The star guard is still in rehab after injuring his knee cap during game one of the NBA Finals, something that would sideline Uncle Drew between three to four months.

It remains to be seen when Irving would be back but chances are he will not be around when the new season starts.

The Cavs will surely not be in a hurry as James is still around to keep his absence covered. But once he does, such would be a big sigh of relief for James and the team considering the things that Irving did last year when he was still healthy.

Contrary to initial beliefs that Irving and James would find it hard to blend, the duo actually made a good account of themselves. And that was just in the first year so expect both to hum even more in the coming season.

James and Irving found a way to complement each other and such could be something that other teams may want to be wary of. With a healthy lineup, the Cavs are favorites to come out on top in 2016, probably even scarier since the team is more familiar with each other than how they were last year.

The latest is that Irving has been cleared to start working out. He is no longer relying on clutches and such should be a good sign for him and the Cavs fans. Hopefully he will be given clearance to play soon, something that should all the more cause opposing teams to worry.
