Chrissy Teigen admits she's 'not good with the Bible' as husband John Legend stars in 'Jesus Christ Superstar'

Chrissy Teigen is no doubt proud of her Grammy-winning husband John Legend, who plays Jesus Christ in the live musical presentation on NBC. The model and TV personality, however, might need to start reading the Bible to learn about the man her husband is depicting, as she admitted on Twitter that she's not familiar with the Bible.

The pregnant celebrity shared to her followers on the social networking site that she was visiting her husband during Monday's rehearsal of "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert!" Aside from watching Legend fly, Teigen joked she had been excited to see leopards on the stage but that turned into a disappointment.

"John said there would be leopards today," Teigen wrote on Twitter. "But it's lepers. I uh, am not good with the Bible," she added.

In 2017, Teigen told a follower that Jesus Christ doesn't shape her beliefs after someone asked, "Is Jesus shaping your personal culture or is the culture shaping you?" She also implied to another follower that her infertility was a "natural blessing" from God, after the public criticized her and her husband for personally choosing her first child's gender when they decided to use in vitro fertilization (IVF).

The "Lip Sync Battle" host hardly talks about religion on social media and in press features. Her husband, on the other hand, admitted in a previous interview that he has issues with his faith. Born as a Baptist, Legend said that he considers himself non-religious as an adult but he still believes that his moral compass is intact.

"I shed some of the less desirable sides of the religious upbringing," Legend said, adding that he witnessed a lot of hypocrisy growing up and saw people use religion to control.

The singer, however, shared that he developed his talent because he was part of a church choir in his childhood. Gospel music laid the foundation of his career as a successful music artist. The "All of Me" hitmaker's parents and grandparents are also active members of their church in Springfield, Ohio.
