'Call of Duty: WW2' updates: Big changes will be made with dedicated servers

"Call of Duty: World War II" has just been released a few weeks ago. Just like with their previous titles, fans had looked forward to this new game. However, the release did not go as smoothly as planned. Sledgehammer, the game's developer, had encountered problems for a while with the game's servers but it is finally back up again.

"Our highest priority is to deliver the best online experience possible," the developers stated in a blog post on their official website, adding, "We're not there yet and we won't rest until we are." The company released an update just recently which did not do the game nor its gamers any good. Sledgehammer instead then shifted their servers into a P2P setup which, at the very least, boosted the performance.

However, for an online game, a dedicated server would be best. That dedicated server was what the company was working on while the game was on P2P. Their plan of action was to test out the dedicated servers in a small area first where they will be able to analyze its results. Once stable, they will slowly expand until it works for everyone.

Another issue that players complained about is the game's connectivity. Players get disconnected at random times which is quite annoying for any gamer. Lastly, the game's HQ or Headquarters mode where people can socially gather is not working as it should. While players can invite other players to join, it is not exactly a social gathering.

These issues appeared on all the devices, with the PC version experiencing the least. Fortunately, however, according to GameSpot, a big chunk of the problems will be solved in the next update which is already available on the PS4 and earlier on the PC. Xbox One players will have to wait just for a little longer.
