March 16 marks the release of "Burnout Paradise Remastered," the rebooted and improved version of the 2008 Electronic Arts game "Burnout Paradise." The original game was much loved by its players, but the new version may have fallen a bit short of player expectations.
The original "Burnout Paradise" was a highly-ranked and well-received racing game developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts. The game's open-world concept as well as its overall gameplay were praised by critics. Even though the game had some small problems with its design, it was offered a generally enjoyable playing experience.
It seems, however, that the design is still somewhat problematic for some players. EA had promised that "Burnout Paradise Remastered" will be fit for 4K resolution, but there are criticisms that the game does not look as good as it should in 4K.
Still, that might not be a problem for other players. They might still find the gameplay to be satisfactory, even as fun as the original's. After all, "Burnout Paradise Remastered" has a lot of in-game events and opportunities to send the car flying.

There is also the possibility that the excitement for the remastered version may have been fueled by memories of the original "Burnout Paradise." The open-world concept of "Burnout Paradise" allows players to crash their cars into objects and cause explosions — that was part of the fun of the game, at least for its teenage players, perhaps.
However, adulthood and life experiences may make "Burnout Paradise Remastered" not as fun as the original. Thus, some players may find that the new game falling short of their expectations due to nostalgia, and the simple fact that they may have already outgrown the game's concept. Of course, the game can probably still be enjoyable if players do not let the realities of car safety affect their playing experience.
All in all, it seems that "Burnout Paradise Remastered" is a well-made game with the same kind of fun, thrilling gameplay that the original game had. Aside from a few kinks, the game may be worth the purchase.
