Brooklyn Nets NBA 2015 trade news, rumors: Is this goodbye D-Will?

Deron Williams was considered one of the best point guards in the NBA market some time ago. And many were hoping to see his talent put to good use when he hopped aboard the Brooklyn Nets franchise. Sadly it has been the exact opposite.

From a budding star during his days with the Utah Jazz, Williams seems to be dilapidating by the season. Williams used to be one of the best on both ends of the court but somehow, the colorful player who is best known for having feuds with head coaches has been a shade of his old self.

Now hearing about Williams on the verge of being traded is nothing new. His name has been linked before, the previous NBA trade deadline to be more precise. Some teams were interested in the idea of getting a player like D-Will. However, those teams may now think twice with the way Williams has played in Brooklyn.

D-Will actually has two more years left on his contract with the Nets, a deal worth a whopping $43.4 million dollars. Now trading him to another team is close to impossible, considering the amount of salary cap space his contract would eat up. So it looks like a trade could be far from happening unless a team would take chance on Deron.

For the Nets, any team who would inquire about Deron Williams could very well be a blessing. It is believed that the Nets will agree to the deal in heartbeat. But considering the number of free agents and of course the incoming frosh from the NBA Draft, teams may look at that option as their last resort.

For D-Will, he can still try to rekindle the good old days that made him one of the more interesting point guards to have. But now, even the teams who sorely need a reliable point guard may think twice. That includes the Los Angeles Lakers who have been linked to Williams before.

If he stays in Brooklyn, critics believe he would be better off as someone who could come out from the bench. If he wants to be a starter, well, D-Will will have to earn that spot back. On how he does it is entirely up to him.
