"Bones" season 11 is slated to return this spring, and while it's still a long wait, fans are already anxious to know what will happen in the second half of the season.

The midseason finale ended with Angela (Michaela Conlin) dealing with a new challenge in her life and relationship with Hodgins (T.J. Thyne). The latter was involved in an explosion that got him paralyzed from waist down. This misfortune comes just in time when the couple decided to start a family.

What happens next for Angela and Hodgins? As previously reported by TVLine, what happened to Hodgins will serve as a test in his relationship with Angela. It's going to be a tough season for the couple and there's a chance that Hodgins won't be able to regain his mobility.

Angela and Hodgins won't be the only ones facing a big problem this season. The show itself is also having some difficulties maintaining its ratings that speculations have it that "Bones" won't be renewed for another season.

Apart from the second half of the season not being included in the winter schedule, "Bones" showrunner Jonathan Collier will also have a new project, "Zoobiquity." According to CinemaBlend, if the new show will move forward, it's likely that "Bones" will lose a showrunner.

But what does that mean for the show and the likelihood of getting its twelfth season?

A recent report from TVInsider mentioned that "Bones" bosses would still want the series to continue telling a story. Speaking at the Fox Television Critics Association party on Jan. 15, Collier and co-showrunner Michael Peterson told the news outlet that they would love to have another season of "Bones."

"It's been a great experience for us. We love doing it; we truly love doing it. I think we're all on the same page. [Bones stars] David [Boreanaz] and Emily [Deschanel] are very excited, too. If Fox can make it work, we'd love to do it," Collier said.

Whether or not "Bones" season 11 is the show's finale season remains to be seen. For now, no official announcement on cancellation or renewal has been dropped.
