'Blue Bloods' season 7 spoilers, air date: Danny scrutinized for Wilder's death

 CBS

"Blue Bloods" season 7 is going to start with Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) facing a possible end to his career. As stated by Cartermatt, Danny is going to be investigated regarding the death of serial killer Thomas Wilder (Louis Cancelmi), who was shot during the final few episodes of season 6.

The report showcases the first promo image for the season 7 premiere, titled "The Greater Good," and it showcases Danny being interrogated for the case. As stated in the report, the case was seemingly closed until new evidence has surfaced revealing he may not have just shot Wilder out of defense during a confrontation but also out of personal revenge.

It is further explained that while it is unlikely Danny will lose his position in the police force it is a story that will shake things up for a while and this new dynamic is heavily hinted in the first teaser trailer for the seventh season.

"Fuller House" star Lori Loughlin will also guest star in the premiere episode and will try to have Frank (Tom Selleck) to convince her son that he shouldn't join the police academy. However, this will cause conflict for Frank given that his whole family is part of the police force but he is also fully aware of the dangers that comes with the job.

The report also states that the premiere episode is playing on the anti-police sentiment that is becoming more apparent in the real world due to police violence and rallies around the country and this may be the show's method of addressing the issue.

Chatt Sports Net also reveals that Frank may be getting a new love interest in season 7 although this is uncertain as no trailer or synopsis has yet unveiled this possibility happening in the show anytime soon.

"Blue Bloods" season 7 premieres Sept. 23.
