Recent reports suggested that BlackBerry may have found a winning formula with its recently released Priv flagship. Indeed, observers were saying that the Canada-based company is slowly becoming a competitor again in the smartphone arena, with reports of company stocks on the rise and the BlackBerry Priv having sold out at some retailers.

The company may have wanted to share the good news to its loyal fans, as BlackBerry announced on Twitter an exclusive holiday promo for the month.

According to the promo details on the official BlackBerry blogsite, the company is offering complimentary accessories plus free express shipping for purchases exclusive to the ShopBlackBerry website.

As part of the holiday promo, there is also ongoing discounted prices for BlackBerry flagships, particularly the BlackBerry Passport and Passport Silver Edition. Shoppers could get the BlackBerry Passport for only $459, and the Passport Silver Edition for $499. In addition, buyers of the two discounted flagships, as well as other iterations such as the Leap, Classic, and the recently released Priv, will also get a free sync pod and a device case for their chosen unit.

The promo is currently ongoing, and is slated to end on 10 a.m. EST, Jan. 5, 2016.

BlackBerry was one of the more established mobile device companies in the past, with its number of flagship iterations and a robust device and data security as some of its selling points. However, the company's devices with their homegrown BlackBerry OS declined in the wake of the Android- and iOS-run handsets dominating the market.

Last month, BlackBerry had a surprise launch with the Priv, a BlackBerry exclusive running on the Android platform. This decision may prove to be a good one, as initial reviews of both the Priv and BlackBerry's financial standings are positive.

According to some observers, the Priv is proving to be such a blessing for BlackBerry that the company may want to continue with the lineup. Speculations already suggest BlackBerry to be on this track, as rumors of another Android-run flagship to be unveiled next year are already floating online.
