Billy Graham says he's 'looking forward' to going to Heaven; announces new film project

Billy Graham celebrated his 96th birthday this week but even though he's largely housebound due to old age, he's as keen as ever to share the Gospel.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association announced a new film project called "Heaven" which includes a message recorded by the great evangelist in which he speaks about his death.

"I know I'm going to Heaven," he said. "I'm looking forward to it with great anticipation."

His son, Franklin Graham, asked people to continue praying for his father and all who watch the new Heaven film "that they too may know the peace found in Jesus Christ".

While last year's birthday bash was a big one, with 800 guests, this year Graham spent it at his home in Montreat, North Carolina, with his family.

Franklin Graham said his 96-year-old father was doing well in spite of his age and frailty.

"Although his physical condition keeps him homebound, he remains interested in current events and the ongoing work of the ministry that he began more than 60 years ago," he told The Christian Post.

"Opportunities like 'My Hope' and the 'Heaven' film are ways that we can help my father to continue the work that God called us to do."

Purpose Driven Life author Rick Warren was among those giving a shout out to Billy Graham on his birthday.

"Happy #96th to my oldest mentor #BillyGraham. Thanks for guiding, defending and loving me for 35 yrs," he wrote on Twitter.
