Big Daddy Weave promotes weight-loss campaign on tour

|PIC1|Big Daddy Weave frontman Mike Weaver is promoting his campaign to lose 90lb in 2009 in the band's latest tour.

Big Daddy Weave are currently traversing the nation on its “What Life Would Be Like Tour”, a continuance of last autumn's successful 37-city run in support of the band’s 2008 CD of the same name.

Celebrating 11 years together with all original members still intact, headliner Big Daddy Weave is visiting 31 additional cities spanning from the east and west US coasts. The band will be joined by special guest artist Josh Wilson.

While on tour, Mike Weaver will further promote his “90in’09” challenge which has already influenced over 10,000 people to start a healthier lifestyle since launching in January.

Having already lost 30 of his 90lb goal in 2009, Weaver plans to meet with 90in’09 participants at each show to share support and encouragement for their commitment to the programme.

Big Daddy Weave hit the spotlight in 2002 when One and Only debuted in SoundScan’s Christian Top 5, the highest debut for a new artist that year. Garnering its first CHR No 1 at radio with “Audience of One,” the band’s other chart-topping songs include “You’re Worthy Of My Praise” (What I Was Made For) and title cut, “Every Time I Breathe”.

Big Daddy Weave has additionally been featured on several special event albums such as: Dove Hits, WoW Hits, WoW Worship, WoW Christmas and the Absolute series.

Hailing from Lubbock, Texas, singer-songwriter Josh Wilson found his life's passion early on, playing guitar and piano for the church his father pastored. Wilson studied music performance at Nashville's Belmont University, where he won the school's high-profile Christian Music Showcase.

His win created an industry buzz that ultimately lead to signing EMI CMG and releasing his 2008 Sparrow Records debut, Trying To Fit The Ocean In A Cup. In addition to being described as an "example of a Christian record done right in every way" (AllMusic.com) and "the future of Christian pop" (Christian Retailing), the project was named “Pop Album of 2008” by GospelMusicChannel.com.

Last fall Wilson toured with labelmate Matthew West and his single, “Savior Please”, is currently a Top 10 hit at Christian AC radio with continued upward momentum.
