BibleLands appoints new chief executive

With successful careers in the diplomatic service and in the City, Jeremy’s appointment to this pivotal role signals BibleLands’ commitment to bring a fresh perspective to the leadership of the charity.

Mr Moodey said, "I am really excited about making the move to BibleLands and using my skills from the financial sector to make a tangible difference in one of the world’s most troubled regions.

"I am truly inspired by the work of BibleLands’ partners such as the Helen Keller Centre and SIRA School as they seek to build community cohesion, and feel that their story should be told to a wider audience. One of my first priorities will be to engage with our partners and see how the charity’s profile can be raised nationally and internationally."

Daniel Burton, chair of trustees, said, "We are delighted to welcome Jeremy to our team. He has a distinguished background outside the not-for-profit world and we look forward to his expertise being put to full use at BibleLands."

BibleLands is a Christian agency working with over 40 overseas partners in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Egypt and Lebanon. BibleLands seeks to enable and resource local Christians to respond strategically and effectively to the changing needs of the region and its people through education, health and community development.

Mr Moodey will be the 13th head of BibleLands since its foundation in 1854. After studying international history and politics at the University of Leeds he entered the Diplomatic Service and had postings in Pakistan and Rome. He moved to the City in 1994 and has most recently been a managing director at Rothschild.
