'Battlefield: Hardline': 'Veterans' DLC pack free 'Battlefield' 2,3, and 4 owners

Electronic Arts will gift players who own older versions of "Battlefield" with a free "Battlefield: Hardline" DLC. The "Veterans" DLC Pack is available to gamers with "Battlefield" 2, 3, and 4.  

The downloadable content comes with an in-game veterans patch, a 200 percent objective boost, and a 200 percent teamplay boost, both of which last for 30 minutes once activated.

Gamers can get the expansion pack from EA's Origin service. First-time players or those who don't have older "Battlefield" versions can also purchase the DLC. 

While "Battlefield: Hardline" has not been formally announced yet, the game developer has already revealed the minimum PC requirements for the upcoming final and official version of the game.

  • CPU: Intel Core i3/ i5 2.4 GHz / AMD Athlon II/ Phenom II 2.8 GHz
  • System RAM: 4 GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 (896 MB) / ATI Radeon HD 5770 (1 GB)
  • Hard Drive Space: 60 GB
  • DirectX 11

"Battlefield: Hardline" includes Easter eggs for gamers to enjoy in addition to the new gaming modes.

The open beta version that ran from Feb. 3 to 9 aimed to ensure that the game is free of bugs. According to EA Games, 7 million players participated in the multiplayer beta. 

"Battlefield: Hardline" is set for release on March 17 for PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3 in the U.S. and on March 20 in the U.K.
