It has been a few months since the newest title under the "Battlefield" franchise was released, and the developers think that it is now time for players to up their game even more with the upcoming release of the first expansion pack for "Battlefield: Hardline."
To be dubbed as "Criminal Activity," the first DLC pack for the first person shooter title seems to focus this time on pure police work.
According to the notes on the official "Battlefield" blog, "Small crews of well-trained, aggressive criminals have been using force of arms to terrorize the citizenry and are in direct conflict with the police in many cases. Public property damages and insurance claims have skyrocketed, not to mention the impact on the police force."
In the expansion, the police thinks that the rise in crimes is due to a secret crime ring operating behind the activities, and players are tasked to help the police not only in stopping crimes in progress, but also in uncovering the syndicate and whoever is running it.
"Criminal Activity" will introduce a host of new content to expand the title. There will be four new maps – Backwoods, Black Friday, Code Blue, and The Beat. Most observers note that Backwoods seems to indicate an outdoor, wildlife-type of setting, while Black Friday will have players check out a string of retail store thefts. The two other maps might have something to do with police stations.
Aside from four new areas, the new expansion will also introduce a new Bounty Hunter game mode. New items will include a new gadget, new ammos for a number of weapons, two new vehicles, and a nailgun battle pickup. There will also be six new masks composed of two animal masks and four police headgears.
No specific date has been said about the expansion, but "Criminal Activity" is expected to be made available for early access in June.
