The eagerly-awaited "Battleborn" will be coming out on Feb. 6, 2016.

Despite the game lacking the franchised cache of other known shooters, a considerable amount of hype has still built around "Battleborn" due in part to its developer, Gearbox Software. That is the very same developer who helped make the crtically-acclaimed "Borderlands."

Aside from getting hype for the team developing it, "Battleborn" is also drawing a lot of attention for its style of gameplay that seeks to combine the fundamentals of a first-person shooter together with some of the mechanics of the increasingly popular MOBA genre, according to Gamespot.

The game gets this kind of description due to some of its multiplayer offerings.

In "Battleborn," players can basically group together into teams of five and engage in team multiplayer not unlike the way that many of the most popular MOBAs today work.

"Battleborn" also provides players with two possible ways to complete its story mode. Players can either opt to go finish the story alone, or they can go play online in co-op splitscreen together with a friend.

Another element of "Battleborn" resembling that of a MOBA is the presence of heroes inside the game. As of now, 25 total characters have been confirmed for the game, according to Polygon.

Four of the 25 characters have also been introduced.

First off is Ambra, a character who specializes in melee attacks that can also heal her allies. Players can also use Benedict, a character that can utilize double jumps and straight up flying inside the game. The third character is Mellka, and she utilizes her quickness in combination chemical-based attacks to take down her foes. Last up is Reyna, and she has a powerful laser pistol at her disposal.

Gearbox Software has also announced plans to provide an open beta for "Battleborn," though the exact date of its availability has not been confirmed.
