'Dragon Ball Xenoverse': Characters, VS fighting and online game modes

'Dragon Ball Xenoverse' launches; players experiencing server difficulties. Bandai Namco Games Europe

Many players equate the "Dragon Ball" franchise with fast-paced, button smashing VS fighting gameplay. However, Bandai Namco Europe hopes to take this franchise into a whole new level with their release of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse."

Developed by Dimps, one of the most successful Japanese game developers, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" combines both VS fighting and online multiplayer game modes. Players can choose from known personas from the "Dragon Ball" universe, or mix and match details to fully customize their chosen characters.

Featuring an entirely new world, players are introduced to TokiToki City. This place serves as the focal point of the players' game world. From here, gamers from all over the world can communicate with NPCs to accomplish quests, seek out items, level up, and interact with each other.

Anticipating triumph over the tweaked gameplay, Herve Hoerdt of Bandai Namco Games Europe is quoted as saying, "30 years after its first appearance, 'Dragon Ball' is still one of the most beloved anime and manga franchises in the world! Thanks to the work from our teams at Bandai Namco Games and our partners at Dimps, we are proud to release a brand new exhilarating game that will break the 'Dragon Ball' conventional history!"

However, just days after the game launched, players are already voicing out concerns over the game, mainly the intermittent and denied connections that they get when they try to log into the game's servers.

With players taking the problem to social media sites, Bandai Namco then issued a notice about the glitch. Concentrating on the server connection problems, the company listed out the steps they are undertaking to resolve the concerns.

Officially launched early last week, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" can now be bought for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The title is also available on Steam.
