It looks like Kevin Feige is not above preying on the anxiety of fans.
The Marvel Studios president recently teased how things are going to turn out in the first five minutes of "Avengers: Infinity War." This was during the Dec. 7 Brazil Comic-Con Experience, where he told fans why Thanos, the main bad guy of franchise, was teased for so long — and for good reason.
"Within the first five minutes of 'Infinity War,' people will understand why Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe," the executive producer said.
Thanos' appearances in the previous Marvel films were limited to glimpses of the character in post-credit scenes and a very minor role in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy." Still, all these only added to the curiosity of just how sinister he can be.
"You know, we've been teasing Thanos since the very first 'Avengers' film," Feige said. "Remember the end of Avengers, the very end of the movie he turns around in the chair and you realize something bad is coming. We've been teasing him for years and the trick is when you tease something for that long you have to deliver," he added.
This led comic book website CBR to speculate that the mad titan may actually kill one of the avengers right off the bat — which would be really scary considering how the trailer suggests he might do this despite having only two of the six infinity stones in his possession, which says a lot in terms of how powerful he really is.
The first trailer for the film showed Iron Man and Spider-man getting manhandled by the titan, with the web slinger telling Stark "I'm sorry," fueling rumors of the hero's death.
The release of the first "Infinity Wars" trailer in November ignited a worldwide frenzy among fans, resulting in 200 million views in just 24 hours in several forms of media.
