While speculations are floating online that the new season of "Attack on Titan" will premiere next month, hardcore fans of the series who have closely followed the ongoing manga will most likely be unsure of the events in the upcoming anime adaptation as it is rumored that the new season will not stick to the story at some key points.

In an earlier post, Crossmap stated that spoilers about upcoming events in season 2 of "Attack on Titan" that are based on the ongoing plot in the original manga adaptation would most likely be off the mark. Rumor has it that season 2 will be the last one for the anime. This means that instead of stretching "Attack on Titan" to closely match the manga adaptation, the creators behind the upcoming anime series would need to alter the story somewhat and bring to a close the story of survival between humans and the giant Titans.

Meanwhile, since there should be closure to the second season of the show, the industry follower added that the story would be so far off from the events in the manga that the upcoming season would most likely see the death of at least one major character. According to rumors, it might even be viewer favorite Levi Ackerman, as a climax to the death of his whole squad in season 1.

As for the exact premiere of season 2, MNR Daily reported that although speculations have stated a February 2016 start, the date remains unconfirmed as an official statement from director Tetsuro Araki has yet to come out.

The "Attack on Titan" anime adaptation is from the original manga series "Shingeki no Kyojin," telling the story of how mankind has been waging a war against a giant race known as Titans. The franchise has been well-received worldwide that aside from an anime season, two full-length, live-action movies have been made of it.
