While the original manga adaptation for "Shingeki no Kyojin" continues, rumor has it that the upcoming anime season will be the last adaptation. Supposedly, "Attack on Titan" will end with season 2.

According to Realty Today, speculations place the upcoming season for "Attack on Titan" to be its last. While there is no  explanation why season 2 would be the closing episodes for the series, an anime adaptation cutting off abruptly while its main manga story is still continuing is not unheard of. Meanwhile, the industry follower added that should season 2 really turn out to be the final season for "Attack on Titan," the anime adaptation will have no choice but to alter its story to give closure to its plot.

Design & Trend seems to agree with this theory and predicted that some major characters might die in season 2 as a result. According to the industry observer, while the story of Eren Yeager and the humanity's battle against the Titans continue in the manga, the upcoming anime adaptation might allow Eren Yeager to die. In addition, it is also rumored that in the episodes for season 2, another fan favorite, Levi Ackerman, will also be a casualty.

Speculations place season 2 of "Attack on Titan" to premiere by February. However, Crossmap disagrees. According to the website, fans and observers may have confused the "Attack on Titan" anime series with a new "Attack on Titan" game, which is scheduled to be released next month. In addition, the industry follower also mentioned an ongoing commitment from both manga writer Hajime Isayama and anime director Tetsuro Araki to wait for at least four arcs between the manga and anime adaptations so that the two will not overlap.

The "Attack on Titan" anime series is an adaptation from the "Shingeki no Kyojin" manga. It chronicles an on-going battle between humans and gigantic humanoids called Titans, whose origins remain clouded in mystery.
