Previous reports indicated that Samsung planned to roll out the Android Marshmallow update for its flagships devices starting this month, with the Galaxy Note 5 reportedly the first one to get the new version. However, recent speculations said the planned release has been delayed. In addition, it was also rumored that the Galaxy Note 5 will receive the Android 6.0 update early next year instead.

According to Tech Times, another leaked document published by Samsung's Vietnam affiliate provided new estimated release dates for company flagships. In the supposed new document, the Galaxy Note 5 now has an Android Marshmallow rollout date set for the first quarter of next year.

There were also adjustments made to the rest of the Samsung Galaxy iterations, such as the Galaxy S5 indicating a newer "Q1 2016" Android M release instead of the specific April outing mentioned in previous documents. In terms of device list, however, the document remains unchanged – most of the newer Samsung Galaxy iterations will be getting the Android Marshmallow update earlier than the older-gen and previous flagship lineups.

Meanwhile, the document also lists another batch of Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets getting the Android M update in the second quarter next year.

Although the new document came from a known company affiliate, the industry follower mentioned that the new list itself has yet to be confirmed by Samsung. In addition, the new details ran counter with previous reports of the Galaxy Note 5 getting the Android M update before December ends. In addition, there also reports claiming that some Galaxy iterations such as the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 4 have already been seen sporting an Android M environment for stress tests.

While most Samsung flagship users are still waiting for the Android M over-the-air updates, particularly Galaxy Note 5 owners, Samsung keeps on updating its current flagships. Just recently, the South Korea-based company refreshed the lineup and came out with a much-higher, 128-GB storage edition of the new Galaxy Note iteration.
