Most tech manufacturers have already updated some of their devices to the latest Android 6.0 platform. According to recent reports, the latest to line up its Android M build is China-based Xiaomi.

In a report by GSM Arena, it was revealed that Xiaomi's Android 6.0 build is already on its final testing stages. Although the China-based company has yet to specify a release date, the industry follower surmised that the release is imminent, as showcased by screenshots of the final version.

The screenshot was teased by the company's MiUI operations manager on Weibo, and the post also announced that the Android 6.0 update was meant first for the Mi 3 flagship. In addition, the update weighs 512 MB, and based on the images, the Android 6.0 build will be layered on the current MiUI 7.0 version.

Meanwhile, aside from the Mi 3, BGR reported that the other Xiaomi flagships like the Mi 4 and Mi Note series will also get the Android Marshmallow treatment. However, the update for the current-gen flagships will be the standard MiUI layer, meaning all iterations will still get MiUI 7.0.

This also means that the homegrown Xiaomi interface platform itself will get a significant update. MiUI 7.0 was released based on Android 4.4 KitKat, and the China-based company has not provided any significant updates since then. When the Android 6.0-based build releases, the current MiUI will skip Android 5.0 Lollipop and its different versions.

The industry follower also stated that as per previous reports, the imminent release of the Andorid 6.0 platform is still a beta build, and will still be subject to developer and user feedback. Meanwhile, the final MiUI 7.0-Android 6.0 layer version will be rolled out as an over-the-air update in a couple of months..
