Is LG Electronics content with the Android OS that their phones have at the moment?
This question seems to be a good issue to tackle with news that LG is not planning to release an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS for the LG G3. As far as the LG G4 variant is concerned, there are said to be no immediate plans as well.
Confirmation comes from the LG carriers in the UK relaying that for now, there are no immediate plans to upgrade the Android OS that the LG G4 is carrying. The information was made known through the Facebook page of O2 UK and LG Hellas.
At the moment, the LG G4 runs on Android 5.1.0 Lollipop and has carried some problems despite the fact that it has addressed some problems from the previous Android 5.0 OS. But the thing is while those previous problems were fixed, new ones arrive.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update does sound disappointing but there are issues tied up to it as well such as battery life issues. There is no gauge to determine if the fixes outweigh the new problems though an update will always be welcome for any user.
With the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on the shelf right now, there are some who believe that LG could be moving ahead and keeping a close eye on the upcoming Android M.
With the Android M already out for the Nexus line, could the LG line be getting theirs soon? The LG G3 may possibly be making a leap towards the direction but the same cannot be immediately concluded for the LG G4.
Remember, the term used as "no immediate plans" meaning there could be a chance that the LG G4 would be getting an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update despite the slimmest of possibilities if opinion are to be considered.
So would it be wise to expect an Android 5.1.1 bump for the LG G4 or wait altogether like the LG G3 (assuming that an Android M version does come out for it)?
