An Indian Christian Musician with Global presence

An Indian Christian Musicians who have made their presence felt across the world are very few. But it takes Benny Prasad to make it all difference with his hectic world tour presenting an Indianized Christian Music. In 2004 he will have an audience in 30 countries around the world including Islamic countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen and other half a dozen Middle East countries.

Kandukuri 'Benny' Prasad was born on 6th August 1975 in the India's Silicon valley - Bangalore City. He was brought up in a God-fearing family, having a scientist working at National Aerospace Laboratories as his Dad and Assistant Director of FEBA RADIO(Far East Broadcasting Associates of India) as his mom. At an early age he had received a divine call from God; thus he joined a Theological College and had obtained his Bachelor Degree only at 21years of age. After teaching in some Bible Colleges and pastoring Churches, in 1998 he joined YWAM,Youth With A Mission, a worldwide inter-denominational organization where he furthered sharpened his skills in mission and the Holy Scripture.

But one thing that never left his mind even in his days in Bible college was Music. His passion for Music never fades away. In fact, he had been playing guitar very professionally from the age of 18 when as one of the Bible college band members had performed in various functions.

In late 1999 he went to New Mexico, USA to pursue his career in Music from School of Music In Missions (SOMM) in YWAM under the leadership of Karen Lafferty the composer of the chorus 'Seek Ye First The Kingdom Of God' There he progressed in his musical skills and God called him into Music Ministry. He plays Semi-Classical style while solo guitaring and has been a part of many Worship bands as a bass guitarist. His involvement in music ministry has taken him to many nations.

In the July-August 2003 Benny had a wonderful performance at the Hollywood Global Arts Gathering at different stages including the Main Platform where about 400 Artists from 40 nations gathered in Los Angeles, California.

His music concerts includes not only performing with music instruments but also sharing the love of Jesus.
As Benny desires to help disciple Christian Musicians, he has served on the SOMM in Bangalore, India as the Assistant to the Director of SOMM.
