'American Horror Story' season 5 plot spoilers: Lady Gaga to play shady hotel heiress in new season

More rumors have been going around online about the plot of the next season of Ryan Murphy's critically-acclaimed horror anthology drama "American Horror Story." One of the most recent plot speculations involves the possible role that singing superstar Lady Gaga would portray in the series.

According to a Tumblr post, the singer will appear in at least three seasons of "AHS" as the lead star, and the upcoming season 5 will not be a musical as what early reports expected. The post also described Lady Gaga's rumored character in "American Horror Story: Hotel" as a "beautiful, strange, yet sophisticated heiress who runs a hotel and will do whatever it takes to keep it up and running, regardless of the tragic and disturbing events that have taken place there."

Also, the new season will possibly revolve around several shady elements that have long resided in the said hotel, including secret societies, a Satanic cult, a group of corrupt politicians, as well as other strange individuals.

Meanwhile, other speculations claim that fan-favorite "AHS" star Jessica Lange, who earlier confirmed that her run in the series is already over, might return in the season premiere and finale episodes of season 5. However, the actress is still mum about the validity of these reports.

Despite Murphy's silence about the possible plot of "AHS" season 5, The Inquisitr posted a statement from FX Networks chief executive John Landgraf, saying, "I know what [the premise for Season 5] is, but I can't [say]. I have to let [series boss] Ryan [Murphy] do his thing on that. But it's very different."

Aside from Lady Gaga, other confirmed actors who will portray roles in the "American Horror Story: Hotel" include returning "AHS" alums Wes Bently ("Freak Show") and Chloe Sevigny ("Asylum"). Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson are also reported to take part in season 5.
