"A Million Hours of Praise" Mobilises All Nations to Global Day of Worship

Sponsored by the United Christian Broadcasters (UCB) based in the UK, a vision from Gatekeepers - a Scottish ministry focused on worship, prayer and mission/evangelism - to make "a million hours of praise" across the world is to become a reality. Churches and individuals from all nations are called to devote in worship.

The vision of "Million Hours of Praise" is to see individuals and Churches from all around the world pledge time and praise to Jesus 24 hours a day for one whole year with the aim to reach an initial target of one million hours of praise. So far an amazing 309,904.5 hours of praise has been completed.

Founder of Gatekeepers, Catherine Brown shared that hopefully "Million Hours of Praise" will help people re-prioritise praise and worship in their lives. She said that it is all about lifestyle and not numbers.

While the date 15th May was endorsed by countries worldwide as the Global Day of Prayer, Saturday 25 June will be the Global Day of Praise. Believers all over the world are invited to join in the world’s biggest praise party. So far praise parties and parades are being scheduled in Ghana, Mali, Liberia, Kenya, Wales, Scotland, England, Ireland, Israel, Berlin and the Philippines.

YMAM Western European Regional Director Stephen Mayers recommended the global initiative, "The million leader mandate for developing leaders around the world is underway, the 24/7 prayer initiative has encouraged millions of hours of prayer and what better way to follow it up with this new initiative in praise. We will be spending eternity worshipping the Lord and so we had better get started now."

Pete Greig of the 24-7 Prayer said, "Heaven will not be a mission, a campaign or a project. It will be a new world of instinctive, creative worship from every tribe and tongue. This initiative is all about bringing in the kingdom of such a heaven on earth and so I am delighted to commend it."
