3 Beliefs to Attain a Victorious Life in Christ

 Pixabay

A victorious life in Christ is not impossible, nor is it far-fetched. It's actually the life that all Christians are supposed to live. However, because of many wrong beliefs and mindsets, many fail to experience the power that Christ's resurrection brings.

The Bible tells us that in the last days, "people will love only themselves and their money ... They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly" (see 2 Timothy 3:1-5).

Sadly, some of these people will declare they are Christians, but only on the outward aspect because they fail to have a mind and heart renewed by God's Word and Spirit. Stay away from people like that!

Do you want to be a person who has both the form of godliness and the power that it actually has to live a victorious life? Here are some beliefs or mindsets you should be believing then.

1. 'I Am Not My Own, I Belong to Christ'

When we realise that we don't have a right to ourselves anymore after surrendering ourselves to Christ, we will begin to think and act differently about ourselves.

We realise that our minds are His, and so we refrain from thinking of ungodly things that displease Him. We realise that our body belongs to Him, and so we refrain from doing things that affect our body negatively, and take care of our health. We realise that our every second, every heartbeat, every breath belongs to Him; and so we choose to live a life that pleases Him.

2. 'Christ Has Freed Me From My Captivity to Sin'

Because God has forgiven all of our sins through the bloodshed of Christ, all the records of charges made against us were scrapped and nailed on the cross of Calvary. Because of this, we can stop living in shame and guilt. God has already forgiven us!

More than that, there's now no condemnation for us because Christ has made us into a new creation. Who we were before we met Him is not the same as who we are now that we are in Christ.

Yes we might look the same, sound the same, feel the same, but the truth is that we're all brand-new in Christ. We are not slaves to the same old sins and weaknesses that used to hold us captive. We're free to say "no" to our past sins.

3. 'I Am Bound for Christ-Likeness'

Friends, God has predestined that we should all be conformed to the image of Christ. We should desire to be more like Christ, then, on a day-by-day, moment-by-moment basis.

Let's start by setting our minds on things above, where Christ is seated. Let's fix our eyes forward towards Jesus, taking care not to turn left or right. Let's meditate on God's Word, on what Christ has done, and what He has commanded.

Make following Christ your greatest desire. Make God your delight.
