2016 Nissan Sentra news: Updated specs mean updated prices

 Business Wire

Apparently, the new edition of one of Nissan's flagship vehicles has undergone improvements and upgrades, and one of the updates involved its pricing.

According to Car and Driver, there was a slight increase in the price range for the full lineup of the 2016 Nissan Sentra, from its base model down to the Sentra SL version.

However, the industry follower added that the price increase has been included as part of the new Sentra's make-over, since all the interior, exterior, and under-the-hood specs have undergone massive changes.

The price increase started from $250 for the base 2016 Nissan Sentra S. According to the post, the $17,615 price tag for the base model of the new iteration includes standard equipment (or add $850 for an optional CVT), a chrome trim, four-speaker audio system and six-speed manual transmission.

Meanwhile, Torque News listed the price tags of the other versions of the 2016 model. The report stated that the new Sentra FE +S model CVT edition has an $18,030 price tag, while the Xtronic-only option for the next in line, the Sentra SV, is at $18,550. The 2016 Nissan Sentra SR is listed with a $20,410 price tag. The most premium of the new lineup, the top-trim 2016 Sentra SL, is for $22,170.

The industry observer added that the prices are for the units themselves, and the price range excludes outside expenses like handling and shipping.

The 2016 Nissan Sentra launched recently with mixed reactions from observers and hardcore fans alike. According to Motor Trend, Nissan updated the 2016 Sentra to look like a familiar, signature Nissan design, which the company started with the recent outing of its Murano lineup.

Apparently, though, the switch from a unique, lineup-only design to a signature, brand-recall conformity has had its share of applause and boos from the motoring community, with mixed reactions ranging from "revolutionary" to "revolting."
