Fans can now start looking forward to "WWE 2K17." Game publisher 2K was endowed a multi-year extension by World Wrestling Entertainment, which allows them to be the exclusive publisher of WWE titles across all platforms in the years to come.

The arrangement also allows 2K to secure publishing rights to other WWE game franchises such as the mobile card game "WWE SuperCard," which features wrestlers and superstars from WWE. Both parties are pleased with and excited about the agreement.

"We are thrilled with the positive momentum of the WWE 2K series, including generating year-over-year growth, as well as the success of WWE SuperCard. We are very pleased to extend our partnership with WWE and look forward to many more years of collaboration," 2K Chief Operating Officer David Ismailer said in a press release.

WWE has also put a huge trust on the publisher's proficiency.

"2K's leadership in authenticity, quality and overall brand dedication has been a perfect complement for WWE," WWE Executive Vice President for Consumer Products Casey Collins said.

With this development, "WWE 2K17" should finally be in the works soon. After all, majority of the expansion packs for "WWE 2K16" have already been released. However, the most recent one's launch was a bit problematic.

"WWE 2K16" players are advised to avoid downloading the newly released Future Stars Pack for the game as it corrupts the wrestling simulation's Universal Mode.

The issue affects Xbox One and PS4 players but 2K promises that it will put out a patch for the issue soon. While this fix will no longer plague players upon downloading the DLC, those who already did get the add-on are in for bad news.

2K stated in its online forum that players will not be able to revert to the state of their WWE Universe before the installation of the DLC, and things like ongoing rivalries, calendar changes and Championship changes will not be automatically restored.
