'Transformers 5' movie spoilers: New video teases Ultra Magnus

Ultra Magnus as seen in the Transformers comic books IDW Publishing

"Transformers: The Last Knight" will see Bumblebee leading the Autobots on Earth while Optimus Prime continues his venture towards Cybertron, a journey teased at the end of "Transformers: Age of Extinction." However, a new preview video hints that Bumblebee may be aided by a classic Autobot that is yet to be featured in the films: Ultra Magnus.

The official "Transformers" Facebook page has posted a sneak peek video that primarily focuses on three sports cars. The first is a yellow Camaro, which will be the vehicle form for Bumblebee, but there are also two other sports vehicles featured, and the others are green and black, likely the vehicle forms of other Autobots.

However, a report from Cinema Blend points out that, for a quick second, viewers can spot a blue semi-truck speeding by. There are many characters in the "Transformers" series, from both the cartoons and comic books, but one notable character has a blue semi-truck vehicle form — Ultra Magnus.

In the original cartoon series, Ultra Magnus was always seen as the second-in-command, and in the original animated movie, Optimus Prime gave the Matrix of Power to Ultra Magnus instead of handing it to Hot Rod or Bumblebee. Unfortunately, Ultra Magnus was proven unworthy to lead the Autobots and he was killed off.

The character has never been featured in the live-action movies, and because of this, his role as being Optimus Prime's successor was given to Bumblebee. Comments on the video suggest that this may be his debut appearance.

It is important that the studios have yet to confirm that Ultra Magnus is indeed in the film and if the aforementioned blue truck is his vehicle form. It is possible that it is going to be used for a different character entirely, such as a new form of Optimus Prime.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" opens in theaters on June 23, 2017.
