Lara Croft brings gamers a Christmas treat as the iOS version of the three "Tomb Raider" mobile game apps can now be purchased for only $5. The Christmas deal was announced at the "Tomb Raider's" Twitter account.

Mobile gamers can now download the original third-person action games "Tomb Raider" and "Tomb Raider II" as well as the puzzle action game "Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light." The games are compatible with Apple devices running with iOS 7 or later. The promo is offered for a limited time, thus gamers need to hurry if they want to download the games.

Meanwhile, the console and PC game "Rise of the Tomb Raider" is reported to head solely to Xbox consoles during the 2015 holiday season since it will be published by Microsoft Studios.

"Yes, Microsoft will be publishing Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox. Similar to how we worked with Capcom on Dead Rising 3 or Harmonix on Dance Central, we're very excited to partner with the amazing team at Crystal Dynamics to bring Rise of the Tomb Raider in holiday 2015, exclusively to Xbox. Both our team and the Xbox community are huge fans of the franchise and we can't wait to share more on the game in the future," a Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer.

This immediately sparked disappointment within the PlayStation and PC community who have followed and played the original versions of the series. Angry gamers accused Microsoft of alienating other players by planning to publish next year's "Rise of the Tomb Raider" solely to Xbox.

Apparently, Microsoft invested a huge sum of money for the development, marketing and retailing "Rise of the Tomb Raider" with the hopes of turning it into one of the biggest titles to be released next year. The game will go up against Sony's PS4-exclusive "Uncharted 4" next Christmas. Gamers are keeping their fingers crossed that Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics and Microsoft will publish PS4 and PC versions of the game title.
