Good news for fans who have been waiting for the comeback of the "Tokyo Ghoul" anime. The third installment is up for release in 2018.

Yonkou Productions announced on Twitter "Tokyo Ghoul's" return for its third season next year. It also teased fans with a 30-second trailer, although the exact release date was not mentioned in the trailer nor in the tweet. The characters who were seen in the trailer are Ken Kaneki, Ginshi Shirazu, Kuki Urie, Saiko Yonebayashi, and Tooru Mutsuki, so fans can expect the gang in the next installment. Ken Kaneki appeared to have a different hair color as well, hinting at a new persona.

According to a report, lead Kaneki will still be voiced by Natsuki Hanae. No other names have been mentioned for the other roles. Because the third season will be an adaptation of the manga, "Tokyo Ghoul: Re" will be about Kaneki having a new identity in the name of Haise Sasaki, after his battle with Kishou Arima left him with amnesia.

This season will also take a look at how he recounts his memory. Sasaki leads a team known as the Quinx Squad, whose members became ghouls because of organs of ghouls being transferred to them. The first volume of the manga "Tokyo Ghoul: Re" is set to be released in the United States on Oct. 17, according to Viz Media.

The live-action movie, titled "Tokyo Ghoul: The Movie" will be shown from Oct. 16 to 22. It is an adaptation of the manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida.

The horror-action manga revolves around Kaneki who became half ghoul and half human after an encounter with Rize Kamishiro, a ghoul, that had him undergoing a surgery in which Rize's organs were donated into Kaneki's body. Kaneki was kept in by Ateiku cafe's owners who are also ghouls and who also taught him the do's and don'ts of being a ghoul.
