'The Blacklist' season 3 spoilers: Large bounty placed on Liz's head in episode 5

Reddington (James Spader) and Liz Keen (Megan Boone) are still on the run from the FBI in "The Blacklist" season 3 episode 5, but the official synopsis hints that at this point, Red will get desperate enough to work with the FBI in order to keep Liz alive from the real enemy, the organization known only as the Cabal. 

The episode, titled "Arioch Cain," will see recurring guest star Paul Reubens as the villainous Mr. Vargas as he hunts down Liz for the Cabal, posing himself as an undercover FBI agent working alongside the recently escaped Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq).

Mr. Vargas won't be the only one however. The promotional trailer for the episode showcases that a large bounty has been placed on Liz's head, causing all sorts of assassins to come after her. With so many people trying to kill Liz, Red is shown to take drastic measures just to keep her alive.

As stated in a report from Cartermatt, all these Cabal assassins coming for Liz pose a serious threat and this may cause him to work alongside the FBI for the mean time, reasoning that Liz would be better of arrested than to be outright killed. For a short while it is possible that Red, Liz and the FBI might be seeing things on the same page.

During the trailer, Red and Liz get surrounded by FBI agents. Instead of Red's usual flair for action, he instead tells Liz to put her gun down, hinting that this episode will end with Liz and Red being apprehended by the FBI in order to maintain protection from the assassins and from the Cabal. 

The FBI, however, doesn't seem to see things this way and it is mentioned in the trailer that they mean to arrest her but not necessarily protect her. How long their uneasy alliance will last has yet to be tested and seen.

"The Blacklist" season 3 episode 5 will air this Oct. 29 on NBC.
