It has been more than a decade since the beloved Pixar film "The Incredibles" was released, and fans have been dying to know more about the upcoming sequel. Given that the creators have been rather quiet about the release of the sequel, fans are also wondering as to why no details regarding the film have been released recently — especially with its 2018 release schedule. However, there are some minor hints that can answer these questions.
In a report by fyrTV, they posted a video on YouTube with some key things to expect from the sequel to come as well as discuss information that was obtained in the D23 event which took place in July. During the "Incredibles 2" segment, it had been revealed that Elastigirl, voiced by Holly Winter, will be the main focus of the upcoming movie. This is a very different approach since Mr. Incredible, voiced by Craig T. Nelson, was the focal point of the previous story.
The story will also be taking place right after the events of the ending scene, wherein it was shown that a villain, who calls himself "The Underminer," was wreaking havoc in the city with his comically giant drill. Most of the cast members will be reprising their roles for the sequel. Samuel L. Jackson, who voices the character Frozone, will be making a comeback as well — as Mr. Incredible's best friend and confidant.
In the previous movie, it was quite unclear as to what kind of powers the youngest member of the family, Jack Jack, had. The only thing that fans know is that he can somewhat shape shift in the presence of danger. However, during the D23 event, a clip hinting at Jack-Jack's powers was revealed, which is apparently more than what the first film has led on.
So far, the movie's director, Brad Bird, has been very careful not to reveal too much about the film. However, it is safe to assume that more of Jack Jack's abilities will be revealed in the highly-anticipated sequel. Nevertheless, "The Incredibles 2" has been promised to be a project worked on immensely, and Bird has even stated that he cannot wait for fans to finally see it.
"The Incredibles 2" is scheduled to be released on June 15, 2018.
