'Big Bang Theory' season 9 spoilers: Sheldon's secret revealed in episode 7

 CBS

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 episode 7 will have several big moments as the official synopsis reveals that the late Leonard Nimoy will be a fundamental part of the main plot. According to a report from Cinema Blend, Nimoy's son Adam Nimoy will be coming in as a guest star for the episode.

In real life, Adam is currently working on a documentary centering around the life of his father titled "For the Love of Spock." It is unsure if the title of the documentary will be mentioned in the episode but the synopsis indicates that Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) will be one of the people interviewed for it.

During filming, Sheldon will struggle to "suppress his emotions" regarding his recent breakup with Amy (Mayim Bialik) and he might reveal a few secrets live on camera. The report from Cinema Blend states that CBS has stated that this is the episode where Sheldon's secret will be revealed to his friends.

That secret in question is his plan to propose to Amy, which ended horribly due to their breakup during the season 8 finale. Up to this point, not one of Sheldon's friends are aware he had an engagement ring and had plans to propose but it is likely that Sheldon himself will reveal the details as he films scenes for Adam Nimoy's documentary.

While the episode deals primarily with Sheldon and Amy's broken relationship, it will also play a big tribute to the late Leonard Nimoy who passed away earlier this year. Nimoy is primarily known for his role as Spock on the original "Star Trek" television series. He reprised his role for the later reboot films directed by J.J. Abrams.

Cinema Blend does explain that showrunner Steve Molaro is still experimenting with character dynamics, so while there is a chance Sheldon and Amy will get back together there is also the off-shoot chance Sheldon or Amy might end up sticking with the new people they are dating.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 episode 7, "The spock Resonance," airs this Nov. 5.
