One of the biggest announcements in the gaming industry is Bandai Namco and Capcom's collaboration to create a "Tekken x Street Fighter" title. However, the announcement was made almost five years ago at the San Diego Comic-Con event. After the announcement, details got so scarce that fans became concerned about the game's development. There were even recent rumors that surfaced that the companies will be scrapping the idea.

However, it seems that fans' concerns were baseless. In a recent interview with Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, translated via game observer site Siliconera, "Tekken" producer Katsuhiro Harada denied the cancellation rumors about the much-anticipated fighting face-off title, and added that the game is still on track and slated to be released.

Harada stated, "That's not true! I've been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we're at a pretty far stage into its development."

The producer also added they have already decided who among the many fighters from Bandai Namco's and Capcom's respective fighting titles will make it into the crossover game.

Harada said, "It might seem like we haven't started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago, and we've already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems."

However, aside from the comments about the "Tekken X Street Fighter" title's development, no other details were furnished by the producer. With "Tekken 7" and "Street Fighter V," the latest titles in their respective franchises, already set to be released, rumors say that the crossover has to take a backseat and will most likely come out either next year or in the early months of 2017.
