'SNL' news: Comedy show makes skit about chain of sexual assault accusations for male celebrities

With the recent string of male celebrities under fire due to sexual abuse and assault allegations, "Saturday Night Live" (SNL) has made quite a joke about the situation with one of their skits.

Will Ferrell stars in the said commercial spoof from "SNL," where the comedian advertises a deodorant called "Next for Men" whose target demographic is that of men accused of sexual misconduct by female celebrities and models. The deodorant had the tagline of "for men feeling the heat... because their time is coming up."

The scene then opens up with three men all checking out some serious armpit stains. Ferrel, as one of them, says, "The way I sweat, my regular deodorant wasn't cutting it anymore. I work hard and I play hard. And something's coming out about me real soon...because I'm next."

Ferrell portrays a businessman who was recently fired due to sexual misconduct and started his own deodorant brand afterwards. As such, "Next for Men" is a parody deodorant for men who have reasons to sweat, presumably because they are next in the ongoing chain of sexual misconduct allegations in Hollywood.

The commercial parody also makes fun of how the accused male celebrities treat their accusers, where Alex Moffat playing an actor on a red carpet jokingly states, "Lots of women are brave but this one is, um, a liar," to which his co-comedian replies, "You're disgusting." Moffat then retorts, "But my pits aren't."

This sudden spike in accusations for male celebrity sex offenders began after reports of executive producer Harvey Weinstein's numerous sexual misconduct spree throughout the years which have been unearthed by several actresses and women working in the industry. The phenomena was even coined its own term and hashtag and is now known as the #MeToo movement. It is used to demonstrate the prevalent and widespread sexual assault and harassment not only in Hollywood but also in the workplace.

Those interested in joining the campaign can go to the official webpage of the movement.
