'Sister Wives' season 6 plot spoilers, cast rumors: Meri to abandon the Brown household?

 TLC

A major change is perhaps one of the things that fans of TLC's "Sister Wives" series can look forward to when the show returns for its sixth season.

When Meri Brown unexpectedly announced that she will be divorcing the Brown family patriarch Kody after being legally married for almost 25 years, a lot of viewers have been speculating that the first wife would be leaving the show. Speculations about Meri's departure from the series were fueled when the social media-active mother of one became radio silent on Twitter when fans greeted her on her marriage's 25th anniversary last month.

Instead, the reality show star began posting tweets about taking chances, following one's dreams, moving forward, and pursuing her college education after her only daughter Mariah went to college.

"I know ME. I know what I feel, what I think, what's important in my life. I am confident in my dreams & passions. I am grateful for this," one of her more recent tweets said

Meri said that the reason for her decision to file for divorce is to allow Kody to legally marry his fourth wife Robyn so that he can adopt Robyn's three children from her previous marriage.

Aside from Meri and Robyn, 45-year-old Kody has two other wives, Janelle and Christine, who are both spiritually married to the Brown patriarch. The Brown family is practicing polygamist marriage, which is accepted by the Apostolic United Brethren church where they belong.

But Meri's apparent departure from the show is not the only possible scenario for "Sister Wives" season 6. Rumor has it that since Kody married Robyn legally in December 2014, the man of the house is allegedly spending more time with her than with the first three wives. Could this lead to problems in the coming season?

Also, Robyn's former husband David Preston Jessop is also allegedly coming to the show to fight for the custody of their children.

TLC has yet to announce the schedule for the season premiere of "Sister Wives" season 6.
