The latest NBA trade rumors link the San Antonio Spurs to Kentucky's Tyler Ulis. According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, the franchise did "extensive research" on the 20-year-old Wildcats point guard.

According to Bleacher Report, the Spurs will definitely benefit from Ulis' skills, especially with Tony Parker starting to show his age. With a couple of years at most left, Parker is expected to be a mentor to Ulis.

Responding to the report, SB Nation's Spurs blog Pounding the Rock adds Ulis' size (he stands five feet and nine inches) will not be a hindrance from his success in the NBA court and with the Spurs.

His paltry size definitely isn't his most defining attribute seeing that he is smaller compared to most NBA superstars but this is easily overshadowed by the fact that his is currently the most sought after point guard this year.

A Sea of Blue also believes that there's no other team more suitable for Ulis than the Spurs. The franchise is set to have Ulis on No. 29, which is admittedly not as high as many expected, thanks to his recent hip injury.

In other NBA trade rumors, it is being said that instead of Ulis, the Spurs might go for either Vanderbilt's Wade Baldwin IV or Cheick Diallo of Kansas instead.

In a mock draft conducted by NBA Network, however, it was Damian Jones, Vanderbilt's superstar of a power forward, that the Spurs ultimately went for.

Pounding the Rock made the selection and reasons that Jones is the answer to the team's need for "young and more athletic [players] in the front court."

In related NBA trade rumors, Kenneth Faried is rumored to leave the Denver Nuggets for San Antonio. Reports say that he will be utilized more efficiently when he's with Spurs as the franchise is expected to give him longer playing time.
