'Pokémon Omega Ruby' and 'Alpha Sapphire' news: Mystical Hoopa character introduced, registration up for The Battle of Hoenn

What was once a product of wishful thinking from the "Pokémon" community has finally become reality. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have revealed the existence of Hoopa, a brand new mythical Pokémon, in "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire." Hackers hPokémonave rummaged around the previous title, "Pokémon X & Y," and they came across the creature.

The developer, via a trailer, revealed that Hoopa will be the first psychic and ghost type Pokémon trainers could catch. The footage also showed gameplay with the use of the Hoopa rings. In its official website, The Pokémon Company has explained a bit about the creature's magical weapon. Hoopa's rings can bend dimensions and move objects to different locations and varying distances.

Attack of the Fanboy echoed fans' speculations that the two-horned Mischief Pokémon brought the Mirage Spots at the Hoenn region in "Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire." This allowed players to capture Legendary Pokémon in the previous titles, the site further added.

The developer has not said a word about Hoopa's form and other capabilities. However, fans should learn a thing or two about the ring-donning creature in the upcoming movie titled "The Archdjinni of Rings: Hoopa," which should unveil juicy facts about the Pokémon in connection to the actual games, IB Times expects. The film will debut in Japan by summer this year.

But while prepping up to hit theaters, fans can also gear up for the "Pokkén Tournament," which is scheduled on Jan. 23, during the Weekly Famitsu Featuring online series on NicoNico. Digital Times, on the other hand, encouraged Pokémon trainers to battle with others in "The Battle of Hoenn Competition" at the Pokémon Global Link. The competition will merit competitors with Tyrunt alongside the ability Rock Head, which will allow players to utilize the Head Smash attack.

Players will have to participate in at least three battles in the online competition to score a serial code for the mystery gift. Tyrunt is at level 10 with Roar, Stomp, Tail Whip and Tackle for its moves. Gamers who want to get the creature should register between Jan. 15 and Jan. 22 and sync their "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire" with the Pokémon Global Link. The actual competition will then run from Jan. 23 through Jan. 25. And by Jan. 30, players will learn of the rankings.

Meanwhile, Nintendo Life stated that European 3DS owners should get a SpotPass notification that will prompt them to help them grab the "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire" Special Demo from the eShop.
