PlayStation VR release date: Sony promises more info next year

 Official PlayStation website

Fans eager to learn more about the PlayStation VR will have to wait just a bit longer.

According to Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida and as reported by Gamespot, the company intends to reveal more specific details about the game by next year.

Yoshida indicated that these details would include the actual price and the release date of the PlayStation VR itself. Yoshida also hinted that the upcoming revelations would also contain important details regarding the headset's other features.

The good news is that Sony will likely be disclosing these details very soon.

Despite no official launch date currently attached to the PlayStation VR, the headset is still widely expected to become available during the first half of next year. With that on the table, it's likely that Sony will not hold off on making announcements for that long.

As for the price of the PlayStation VR, Sony has previously indicated that they expect the headset to be priced much in the same way as an actual gaming platform, so that may give fans a clue on what to expect.

Sony has also revealed some of the games that are set to be featured on the PlayStation VR when it is finally ready.

Thus far, the games confirmed for the PlayStation VR look like they will be featuring varied experiences for players.

For example, players can take to the skies to engage in airborne warfare with "Ace Combat 7," The Verge reported. If players want to try something unique and unlike many other games that are currently available, they can also check out the new take on "Rez Infinite."

There will also be racing titles such as "Gran Turismo Sport" and "Driveclub" that are expected to make their way to the PlayStation VR, among the numerous other options that fans will have.
