The anime adaptation of original manga series "One Punch Man" ended last month. However, fans are expecting that with the continuing rise of the popularity of both the anime and manga series, there will still be upcoming anime seasons for the franchise.

Meanwhile, fans can now watch original video animations of "One Punch Man."

According to Design&Trend, the pilot OVA for "One Punch Man" is already available online. Titled "A Shadow that Snuck Up Too Close," the episode is situated after Saitama's one-punch battle against Mosquito Girl and the first time that the hero-for-a-hobby and his would-be disciple Genos met. Genos, watching how Saitama almost effortlessly took care of the villain, struggles to understand how and why Saitama got his overwhelming strength and his secrets.

Liberally dotted with signature "One Punch Man" humor, "A Shadow that Snuck Up Too Close" is the first of two planned OVAs for the anime adaptation. While there are still no clues as to what the second episode might contain, some observers like The Bit Bag are saying that anime series developer Madhouse might take content out of the manga spin-offs themselves, such as a released "One Punch Man" and "Dragonball" crossovers showing Saitama fighting with Vegeta, Majin Buu, and Mr. Satan.

Meanwhile, the popularity of the anime series, as well as the continuing material in the original manga adaptation, almost guarantees a season 2 run. An earlier report by Otaku Art mentioned that if creator Murata Yusuke would have his way, he would be working twice as hard "so that it will get a second season."

The industry follower said that this would mean season 2 would release in six to nine months at the earliest, or as long as one to two years.
