"Mario Kart 8" will have more added content in the near future, according to Nintendo's fiscal report.

Nintendo seems to be on the rise, with its fiscal reports reporting successes and profits, thanks to an aggressive campaign such as launching the 3DS handheld, coming up with a partnership for mobile game development, and major title releases on the Wii U like "Super Smash Bros." and "Mario Kart 8." However, the company needs to come up with a solid solution to keep the ratings going up and the fans continuously excited, especially with Nintendo facing setbacks such as the delay for the much-anticipated "Legend of Zelda" for Wii U.

To keep fans happy, and also to keep up with the competition, Nintendo is reportedly planning to continuously support its biggest name titles with massive downloadable add-on content, starting with "Mario Kart 8." In the fiscal report, a couple of paragraphs outline the company's campaign to support its already-released games.

According to the report, "For Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, in addition to maintaining the performance of already-released titles with strong sales potential, new titles will continue to be introduced in order to further expand the installed bases."

It then continued, "Specifically, by sequentially introducing additional download content for blockbuster titles such as 'Mario Kart 8' and 'Super Smash Bros.' for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, we aim to keep these titles played more actively."

Other than the two games, downloadable content is also planned for other Nintendo titles such as the new Nintendo 3DS /XL game "Xenoblade Chronicles 3D," the upcoming ink shooter "Splatoon," and "Yoshi's Woolly World."

Now that it is confirmed that other DLC packs are on the way, hardcore fans are scouring for information on what crossover Nintendo is planning for the next "Mario Kart 8" expansion. Previous expansions for the gaame are characters and content from "The Legend of Zelda" and "Animal Crossing."
