Lenovo K3 Note faster than Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 in benchmark report

Known as the largest PC manufacturer in the world, Lenovo had earlier this week announced the Lenovo K3 Note, which happens to be a smartphone carrying a price tag of just $145. While the company's primary motive to release the affordable handset was to square off against Meizu's M1 Note, the latest AnTuTu benchmarking report reveals that Lenovo K3 Note packs a lot of punch for a budget smartphone.

According to Android Headlines, Lenovo K3 Note was able to score 46,081 points in the application, which is highly impressive, seeing as how Samsung's Galaxy S5 and HTC's One M8 were able to score the following:

  • Samsung Galaxy S5: 38,850 (for the octa-core variant, which is faster than the Snapdragon variant)
  • HTC One M8: 36,992

Even though the results vary on different handsets, Lenovo K3 Note's 46,000+ score means that the smartphone carries a much smaller price while being able to deliver performance that obscures the previous generation flagship handsets'. Intended to capture a large capacity of the middle tier smartphone market, Lenovo K3 Note is incorporated with MediaTek's MT6752 SoC, which features the following:

  • Octa-core processor with a base clock frequency of 1.7 GHz
  • 2 GHz
  • ARM's Mali-T760 GPU

The smartphone is also fitted with a LTE Cat 4 modem and 802.11 n adapter in order to fulfill wireless connectivity functionality. Additionally, the Lenovo K3 Note is incorporated with a 3,000 mAh, along with a 13 megapixel rear camera sensor coupled with a 5 megapixel front camera sensor. One of the primary differences that separate Lenovo's K3 Note from Meizu's M1 Note is the existence of a microSD slot.

The Lenovo K3 Note features on-board storage of 16 GB, but its microSD slot feature allows future users to upgrade their existing storage to a limit of 32 GB. Meizu's M1 Note is currently being offered in the 16 and 32 GB models, but both models are void of an expandable storage feature, with the base model carrying a price tag of $160.
