Just weeks after unveiling his new Christian-themed tattoos, pop star and born again Christian Justin Bieber was spotted in LA carrying what appeared to be a Bible.
He may have a checkered past, but since his arrest for DUI back in 2014 the 23-year-old's been trying to turn a new leaf and has become increasingly devoted to his Christian faith.
And now it looks like the Cold Water singer was perhaps enjoying some Bible study time as the Daily Mail reports he was seen strolling in LA with a friend while carrying what looked like a Bible and small laptop. See photos here.
The Canadian pop star was relaxed and smiling in an all-white Adidas ensemble and Yeezys for his afternoon outing on Friday.
It comes after he recently thanked God on his Instagram for the progress he's made since his August 2014 arrest in Miami, Florida.
Bieber posted the mugshot on Instagram next to a current photo of himself and captioned it: 'I love this because it reminds me I'm not exactly where I want to be but thank God I'm not where I used to be! The best is yet to come do you believe it?'
Just a few weeks ago, Bieber unveiled his latest tattoo of a roaring lion on his chest that had been inked directly under an older tattoo of a crown.
It's the latest in a growing collection of Christian-themed tattoos on his body, having previously inked himself with a bear and eagle, the words 'Son of God', crosses, angel wings, and the face of Jesus.
Bieber was famously reported to have been baptized in a bathtub when he recommitted himself to the Christian faith and has not shied away from speaking about it since then.
He recently told Complex: 'I just wanna honestly live like Jesus. Not be Jesus – I could never – I don't want that to come across weird. He created a pretty awesome template of how to love people and how to be gracious and kind. If you believe it, he died for our sins.
'Sometimes when I don't feel like doing something, but I know it's right, I remember, I'm pretty sure Jesus didn't feel like going to the cross and dying so that we don't have to feel what we should have to feel. What Jesus did when he came to the cross was basically say, "You don't have to feel any of that stuff."
'We could take out all of our insecurities, we could take away all of the hurt, all the pain, all the fear, all the trauma. That doesn't need to be there. So all this healing that you're trying to do, it's unnecessary. We have the greatest healer of all and his name is Jesus Christ. And he really heals. This is it. It's time that we all share our voice. Whatever you believe. Share it. I'm at a point where I'm not going to hold this in.'
Last November, he shared a snap of himself on his Instagram writing in a notebook with the caption: 'the old is gone the new is here.'
He's frequently spotted at Hillsong Church and counts one of its pastors, Carl Lentz, as a mentor and friend. Last December, it was reported that Bieber was leading Bible study classes backstage during his world tour.
