"IT: Chapter 2" picks up around three decades after the events of the first film, meaning The Losers Club would already be adults by the time they reunite in Derry in 2019. However, the young breakout stars who anchored Andy Muschietti's 2017 blockbuster think there is still a way they could return in the sequel.

In an interview with Cinema Blend, Wyatt Oleff and Jeremy Ray Taylor who played Stanley and Ben, respectively, in "Chapter 1" were asked how they would want to appear in the next installment and they both thought flashbacks would be the most viable option.

"So like flashbacks or maybe us going our separate ways at the Blood Oath. Showing where we go and stuff. I don't know, but I'm super excited for it," Taylor said.

Both admitted there is a chance they will return, and discussions have already started, although nothing has been set in stone yet.

"They've like hinted towards it, but they haven't told us anything passed that," Oleff noted before Taylor chirped in: "We definitely don't know anything official."

After defeating Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard), the members of The Losers Club formed a Blood Oath before they went their separate ways. In the book, everyone moves away from Derry except for Mike (played by Chosen Jacobs) who stays in town to monitor any suspicious activity that may point to Pennywise's return. Many years later, Mike is convinced the clown is back and rounds up the gang to confront the entity once more.

Muschietti has yet to cast the adult versions of the kids, but there have been a couple of stars who voiced interest in boarding the sequel. As previously reported, Jessica Chastain is very much willing to be the adult version of a Beverly Marsh whose portrayer, Sophia Lillis, also wants her for the role. Idris Elba, who has not seen the movie but is a fan of Muschietti's "Mama," wants in, too.

Warner Bros. has already greenlit "Chapter 2," setting it for release on Sept. 6, 2019.
