Indiana Pacers roster news 2015: Paul George sets bar high for 2015-16 NBA Season

Paul George will be making his return to full active duty in the coming 2015-16 NBA wars and the Pacers star seems to be all pumped up as he tries to forget a horrific injury, which sidelined him for most of last season.

After breaking his leg, George plans to step into the leadership role that David West used to carry.

As everyone knows, West has already left Indiana and opted to sign with the San Antonio Spurs. West shunned money in favor of a ring and hopefully he will get just that this coming season.

With West gone, George is being groomed to play the power forward position with the Pacers planning to go small and play a fast-tempo style of game next season.

Though the change in role could mean a lot of adjustments for George, the NBA All Star has no qualms about it. In fact, he embraces the challenge and hopefully the change in style will work to the advantage of the Pacers.

Hopefully, the change in system will also help George achieve a personal goal – to be the NBA Most Valuable Player this year. Such could prove to be motivation that the Pacers can lean on. George shared his goal during a recent visit to China at a Beijing Nike Store.

And based on how he has been playing through the years, it is unlikely we see George to start hogging the ball despite the fact that he has the green light to play as he wishes as long as he is delivering.

That will also depend on how George can adapt to the new system that Pacers president Larry Bird and coach Frank Vogel will be implementing this coming season. Will George be up to the task of a run and gun team for the entire season?

With a smaller team, one has to wonder if the tactic will hold up for the Pacers throughout the entire 82 games. But as George is concerned it is all about getting on the same page which, (fingers-crossed) will work wonder for Indiana in the 2015-16 NBA season.
